About the Project:

South Bend, Indiana  Lohmann Sports Fields, along with famed NFL grounds keeper, George Toma, spent ten days at the hallowed Notre Dame Stadium in Nov. 2007 replacing the entire playing surface. Using a Koro Field Topmaker, LSF stripped the existing turf, then roto- tilled an assortment of amendments into the soil profile, laser-graded the final surface, and finally sodded the field with bluegrass imported from Colorado. The crews at LSF and the ND staff have enjoyed seeing the fruits of their labor, as both the Irish team and field are once again national contenders.
