Tippecanoe Lake Country Club

About the Project:

Leesburg, Indiana  With limited labor and operational resources this 18-hole, private club had always struggled to maintain quality conditions in its 72 bunkers. The flashed sand faces took two sand machines per day working 5-days a week to keep up.  To maintain the course challenge and strategic appeal, bunkers were relocated in more strategic positions and replaced with bentgrass hollows in areas around greens.  The new bunkers have resulted in a *20% reduction in daily bunker labor. Bunkers [and greens] now require one less crewman, and are worked primarily by hand, resulting in higher quality conditions. (* Direct labor savings: 2-3 man hours per day X 120 days X $12 = $3,000-$4,500)
